Long weekend bike camp

Local bike camp on this long weekend on 4th, 5th and 6th October.

An opt in, opt out stages which is sustainable for three days at the start of our Triathlon season.

The aim is to get a few kms into our legs. It must be sustainable so we make it to the end but it must give us the opportunity to push ourselves. Can be mixed up with a swim and jog after each ride, plus a few coffees along the way.

Saturday: weekly shop ride at 6:30 for an hour. There will be a couple of different groups so we can cater for everybody. This is followed by a coffee/breakfast. This is a regular ride so we would join an existing group for approx 25km. We could recommence again at 8am and do maybe one or two laps of Basher. These loops are approx 48km. This allows people to opt in or opt out. Maybe a run and swim in afternoon. Daylight saving starts Saturday night.

Sunday: two options. Start at 7am (remember daylight saving) from Ollie Robbins boat ramp and choose two distances. One to Yeoval (approx 70km out) or to Wambangalang (approx 30km out). The Yeoval loop would include a coffee break and refuel.

Monday: a bit of a recovery ride. Start 7am from Oliie Robbins boat ramp again. Out the Obley Rd and head to the Terrabella Bridge and return. Is about 60km where we stop at the bridge before returning. This is the old Dave Clark Sunday ride.

Quicker riders can turn back to rejoin slower riders or ride with high cadence.

All finished with a coffee.

Opportunity for a bit of base training for our big local season to establish a bit of endurance.

As it is training, make sure you bring along the drinks and other nutrition you might use in a race. Also practice in your tri gear. New nicks and top? Try using them so you are comfortable on the race day. Practice everything.

Participants are strongly recommended to ensure that they have adequate personal insurance in the event that they suffer loss damage or injury whilst participating in group training.

Group training is not organised or supervised by any accredited triathlon coach appointed by the Club. The locations or courses where group training occurs are not sanctioned either by or through the Club or Triathlon Australia.

Each participant releases and indemnifies the Club and its committee to the full extent permitted by law from any liability arising in any way from participating in any group training activity.
