Dubbo Triathlon Club held one of its largest local events ever on Sunday 12th October with their first event of the season, the Michael Martin Team Charity Challenge.
Twenty five teams of three competed with the first member doing the 500m swim, the second doing an 18km bike ride, and a third member running 4km toward the finish line.
The format for this Charity Day was a “no watch” event so each team nominated a finish time and the closest team to finish to their nominated time was the winner.
Club Secretary, Susan Madden, and fellow members of team Hurting Peta Holcombe and Edwina Toohey tied with the Mad Dog’s Luke McConochie, Heath Webb, and Nick Beattie (pictured).
Many of the 75 competitors were new and enjoyed the relaxed, fun atmosphere.
The Charity Day is in memory of former Club member, Michael Martin, and raised approximately $750 for the NSW Cancer Council.
Thank you to all participants, marshals and volunteers who made the day a success.
